Whew! Just finished a 10.2 mile run. I made a few wrong turns during the run, which helped me tack on that .2. ;) I did a-okay! The weather was awesome - very cool when I started (about 40 degrees) and warmed into the mid 50s by the time I was done. Lewis & the girls met me at various places along my route so I'd have water. That was nice. I also needed a bathroom break on this one, so it was nice to be able to take at my half-way point in the park.
My hips are very sore, my feet were hurting toward the end (very much time for new shoes) and my shoulder blades are killing me more than anything. I think that's from leaning forward when I get tired. Otherwise, my breathing and endurance felt fine.
Not bad for 10 miles. I'm really excited to hit this milestone. We're getting so close to our 'finish line'!
10.2 miles
2:05:36
12:19 pace (might have hit the 12 min. mark if I didn't need a bathroom break!)
Keep it up, team!!

Long Runs Getting Tricky (Jen)
Lewis ran just about 10 miles today. He did a great job. The weather was a little warm this weekend, though. We've had a hard time getting in our long runs the last few weekends due to soccer, kids' stuff, church, etc. We're going to see if we can stagger our long run weekends. So, next weekend, I'll do MY 10 mile run. He might do 5. The last LONG run I did was a few weeks ago when I did my 8 mile run. I never did do my 9 mile run, so I've got to bump it up an extra mile. I'm getting my middle of the week runs in, so at least I'm consistent with that. Soccer season is over, so maybe we'll have a little more time on Saturdays to get these runs in. We'll keep you posted. Good luck to the rest of you with your training!!

14 miles (Steven)
For my 14 mile run today, according to GMAPs Pedometer website, I ran 13.9448 miles in 2:00:26 (8:38 per mile) This was my longest run ever since the Half Marathon had been my previous longest. I was very pleased with my time. However, I think I pushed a little too hard. My legs were toast the last couple of miles. The weather was perfect, and I wore a Fuel Belt. It's the brand of hydration belt I bought that holds two 8 ounce bottles on the back of the belt. I was skeptical, but it ended up not bothering me, and the amount of water was just right. It was nice to be able to pump my arms normally, but still have the option to get water when I really needed it. I also found a new path to run that had very long flat straight aways that definately helped my time. This run was another indication that I am not ready for the full Marathon, but I keep slowly building my strength and confidence. I hope everyone is doing well. This was a big step for me.
